A skateboarder of 30 years, Blake’s collection of colorful decks from friends who turned pro, graces the walls, and there are murals all over the walls in keeping with the artistic vibe.
“Skateboards are rad art to hang,” he says. “They look so killer in here!”
As well as the decor, Blake has also got a hands-on approach with the type of food that is served at The Good Bar. As a vegetarian, he’s made sure there are plenty of meat-free options on the menu, like vegan hot dogs and a veggie burger made in-house. The bar sources high-quality products like grass-fed steaks and locally made bread from The Crema Café & Artisan Bakery of neighboring Seal Beach.
“I want my kids to be able to eat here, and I want my friends to be able to eat here,” he explains.
